Chest Slot Runes

Paladins in Season of Discovery have access to powerful chest slot runes that significantly enhance their abilities. These runes offer unique skills and bonuses, transforming the way paladins approach combat and support roles.

Seal of Martyrdom

This rune fills attacks with Holy Spirit, causing melee attacks to deal 30% weapon damage to the target. However, the paladin loses health equal to 10% of the inflicted damage. Party members within 40 yards receive this 10% as mana. Unleashing the seal instantly causes 70% weapon damage, with the paladin taking 10% of this damage.

Aegis

To obtain the Aegis rune, paladins must be level 8 and have Purify trained. They can find it in the starting zones. The rune is located at the back of the Jasperlode Mine, in a new section where spiders dwell. Paladins must interact with a Wounded Adventurer NPC, cast Purify on them, and then receive and learn the rune on the spot.

Hallowed Ground

Hallowed Ground replaces the Horn of Lordaeron rune in Phase 4. This new rune enhances Consecration, allowing it to heal party members within its area for 200% of Consecration’s damage value. To acquire this rune, paladins can travel to Thelsamar in Loch Modan and pick up the Libram of Blessings from a table. It’s important to note that once a paladin begins progressing a Libram to earn its rune, they should not unequip it until obtaining the rune.

Divine Storm

The Divine Storm rune, available at level 25, requires a group effort to acquire. Paladins must journey to the Tower of Althalaxx in northern Darkshore (coordinates 56, 26) and retrieve a Strange Orb. This initiates a quest chain involving multiple locations, including Maestra’s Post in Ashenvale, Stormwind City, and Redridge Mountains. The final step takes place in Demon Fall Canyon, southeast Ashenvale, where paladins must collect Motes of Mannoroth and interact with Mannoroth’s weapons to complete the process.

Legs Slot Runes

Paladins can acquire the Inspiration Exemplar rune for their leg slot at level 6.

In Dun Morogh, the remains are located in the Grizzled Den at coordinates 43.0, 49.6.  Once at the location, paladins need to initiate a ritual to summon the Adventurer’s Spirit. Upon defeating this spirit, each healer involved will earn the rune.

Rebuke

The Rebuke rune, available from Phase 1, can be engraved on pants and is recommended for level 10 paladins.

Avenger’s Shield

While it generally deals less damage than Aura Mastery, its multi-target capabilities make it a valuable tool. Paladins can obtain this rune by defeating Dro’zem the Blasphemous, a level 23 Elite Orc found in Redridge Mountains.

Dro’zem has three known spawn locations:

  1. North of the orc cave at coordinates 36, 9
  2. In the Stonewatch Keep Courtyard at 66, 55
  3. South, in front of a cave at 74, 80

The northern spawn near the cave is considered the most reliable location to find this rare mob.

Hand of Sacrifice

Hand of Sacrifice is a new rune replacing the previously available Divine Sacrifice. While not traditionally necessary for many Classic WoW encounters, the changes in Season of Discovery may increase its utility.

Exorcist

It’s important to note that Exorcist is no longer a rune ability. Instead, paladins now learn it as a baseline ability from a skill book. The Aura Mastery rune has been introduced to replace Exorcist in the rune system.

Gloves Slot Runes

Paladins in Season of Discovery have access to powerful gloves slot runes that significantly enhance their abilities. These runes offer unique skills and bonuses, transforming the way paladins approach combat and support roles.

Crusader Strike

Crusader Strike is a versatile ability that deals damage and regenerates mana, making it useful when resources are low. Paladins can obtain this rune at level 4 through a quest in their race’s starting zone. It’s important to note that this rune is only available in the paladin’s specific starting area. After completing the quest, paladins should return to their trainer to receive a pair of Tarnished Chain Gloves, which can be used with the rune.

Hand of Reckoning

Hand of Reckoning provides paladins with a much-needed taunt ability, increasing their viability as tanks. To acquire this rune, paladins must venture into Stonesplinter Valley Cave and locate the Sunken Reliquary in a small pool behind a waterfall. After obtaining the Libram of Justice, they must equip it and kill 10 enemies stunned by Hammer of Justice. This process builds the Inspired buff, allowing paladins to unlock the rune by right-clicking the equipped Libram.

Beacon of Light

Beacon of Light is a powerful healing rune that enhances a paladin’s support capabilities. To obtain this rune, paladins must reach Friendly reputation with the Azeroth Commerce Authority faction. This is achieved by turning in Waylaid Supplies to Supply Officers located near Auction Houses in major cities such as Darnassus, Ironforge, and Stormwind City. Once the required reputation is reached, paladins can purchase the Rune of Beckoning Light for 2 gold from these Supply Officers.

Beacon of Light allows paladins to designate a target as a Beacon for one minute. During this time, all healing done to other party members is replicated on the Beacon target. This ability effectively doubles healing on the main target when cast directly, making paladin healers exceptionally strong for single-target healing while also improving their ability to keep up with healing DPS.
